Billy Brown, 72, Sierra Vista, Va., died Thursday at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Ariz.

Born in Greencastle, he was the son of Charles and Mackie (Cartwright) Brown.

A 1952 graduate of Greencastle High School, he served 28 years in the U.S. Army, seeing active duty in Korea and Vietnam.

Surviving are his wife Bok Dong; a daughter, three sons, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of Arizona; brother Gib Brown and wife Beverly, Arizona; sisters Marie Lawson and Charlotte Churchill, both of Greencastle, Betty Campbell and husband Willie, Terre Haute, and Lillian Frazier, Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Brown Jr., and sisters Mary Novell and Elizabeth Brown.

Services will be conducted Wednesday in Sierra Vista, Ariz.
