Gretchen Leola (Ellis) Hayden, 92, Greencastle, died Thursday at Asbury Towers.

She was the daughter of Chancie Ellis and Ellaria (Switzer) Ellis.

A graduate of Waynetown High School, she was a receptionist for Dr. Claude Thompson for more than 20 years, retiring in 1977.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Hayden, Greencastle; two step-sons, Gerald L. Hayden and wife Donna, Washington; and John E. Hayden and wife Sharon, Winslow; a step-daughter, Judy A. Tomey and husband Hank, Washington; six step-grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, and one great-great step-grandson.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
