James Roger Lackey, 17, Clackamas, Ore., died Thursday at Oregon Health Science University Hospital in Portland, Ore., from severe head trauma received in an accident.

He had attended North Putnam Middle and High School. While at the middle school, he was on the football team.

He is survived by his father, Todd Lackey and stepmother Ann Lackey, Heritage Lake; and two step brothers, Nathanael and Jacob Cole.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday in Clackamas, Ore.
