Born at Indianapolis, he was the son of Sammuel and Fay (McCullough) Stuart.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served from 1950-53. He was a self-employed landscaper and carpenter.

He had been married for 44 years to Evelyn Nichols Stuart. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Robert Stuart and wife Sue, Fillmore; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy Stuart.

A celebration of life memorial service is set for 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Fillmore Methodist Church.
