Pregnancy Center set for 'Walk for Life'

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County announces its annual Walk For Life on Saturday, Sept. 9 at DePauw's Nature Park in Greencastle, starting at 10 a.m.

The Walk For Life will begin at the Nature Park's trail-head and will follow the Quarry trail for approximately two miles.

Participants may call the CPC or stop by during business hours to receive a walker brochure.

The Walk For Life is only two miles, making it easy for walkers of all ages and abilities to participate.

Walkers simply ask their friends and family to sponsor them with a single, tax-deductible gift for their participation in the walk. Walkers are not required to collect any money from their sponsors.

With the information walkers provide, CPC will send out sponsor bills.

Walkers bring their sponsor sheets with them to turn in the day of the walk. Any walker raising a total of $150 or more will receive a free Walk For Life T-shirt.

The event will take place rain or shine.

For those unable to walk the day of the event, simply walk on your own and submit your sponsor form to the CPC. Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County is a non-profit, Christian organization that assists women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy. It also provides material assistance for families in need. CPC does not receive any state or federal funding and is supported solely through the donations of individuals, businesses and churches throughout Putnam County.
