N. Putnam falls to Cascade in volleyball

CLAYTON -- The North Putnam High School varsity volleyball fell to the Cascade Cadets on Thursday in three games.

The Cougars lost, 15-25, 21-25, 20-25.

Taylor Alles was 9-for-9 behind the service line for North Putnam and tallied one assist, one block, two digs and one kill.

Logan Doyle led the Cougars' defense with 29 kills and also tallied a kill on the night. Ashley Doyle was 3-of-4 behind the service line with one assist and 11 digs.

Kayla Green had a 5-for-5 performance in serves with five digs and four kills on the night while Elizabeth Jones had four assists in the game to go with 11 digs and two kills.

Jayde Kosobud had 17 digs and four kills in the match, and Carlye McGaughey had one assist, three digs and one kill.

Tiffany McMurty contributed two assists, four digs and three kills to the effort, and Kacy Wendling had 10 assists, five digs and three kills.

"We did not have a good night," North Putnam coach Michelle Spencer said. "We are asking young girls to do a lot. They are doing a good job but are learning what needs to be done in order to gel as a team."

The Cougars' junior varsity team also dropped its match to the Cadets, losing in two games.

North Putnam will take the court again on Monday when it hosts North Montgomery at 6 p.m.
