West Vigo defeats Cougar boys in soccer

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The North Putnam High School boys' varsity soccer team dropped its match with West Vigo on Thursday.

The Cougars lost to the Vikings, 5-1.

Craig Wood scored North Putnam's only score of the game on a penalty kick in the second half.

The Vikings were led by Tobias Ritzen, who scored three goals in the game and assisted on a fourth.

Jack Widlok also scored thanks to an assist from Ritzen.

Cameron Griffin scored on a penalty kick to seal the score a 5-1.

North Putnam will play again on Saturday when they hit the road to face the Crawfordsville Athenians at noon.

West Vigo 2 3 -- 5
