The Cloverdale varsity volleyball team lost to Eminence in four games Tuesday, 22-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-18.

After winning the first game, Cloverdale coach Kathy Moore said the Clovers fell off the rest of the match.

"We played well in the first game then struggled the rest of the match said.," Moore said. "

Hannah Monnett led the Clovers with nine points, four aces, four assists and one kill, while Amber Curtis had eights points, one ace and five assists. Stephanie Tutterow added seven points and two aces, while Emily Puffer had six assists in the match.

"Eminence is an improved team this year and they fought for every ball," Moore said. "We had some great saves, but had difficulty hitting around their blockers."

In junior varsity action, the Clovers continued their winning ways, defeating Eminence in two games, 25-16, 25-10. Whitney Bond had a huge match, with 22 points, 11 aces and four digs in the match. Alesha Evans added nine points, two aces, three kills and four digs, while Erica Lotz had nine points, three assists and three digs. Kristin McCammon had nine digs, four kills and one aces for the Clovers.

The Cloverdale junior varsity squad is now 17-5 on the season. The Clovers host Tri-West Thursday at 6 p.m.
