The North Putnam girls' varsity soccer team defeated South Vermillion Wednesday, 6-2, ending the regular season on a positive note.

"It was a nice way to end the regular season," North Putnam coach Scott Spencer said.

The Cougars were led by Sheila Diebold scoring three goals in the match. Chelsea Greene had two goals, while Brook Miller added another. Miller also had three assists in the match.

Spencer was pleased with the Cougars' performance, particularly in the second half.
