On senior night, the North Putnam varsity volleyball team defeated Danville in five games Monday, 25-13, 6-25, 25-21, 25-27, 15-12.

Leading the way, senior Tara Thornburg had 14 service points, three aces and 17 assists. Kala McKinney added 10 service points and three aces.

Junior Jayde Kosobud also had a solid performance for the Cougars, with 12 kills, five service points and one ace. Sophomore Kayla Green had one kill and eight service points.

North Putnam plays Cascade at Tri-West tonight at 6 p.m. in the first round of the sectional tournament.
