On Tuesday, the Greencastle High School girls' basketball team dropped to 1-4 after losing a close game to Tri-West, 42-39.

The Bruins came out strong in the first quarter, putting up nine points to Greencastle's four, but that changed in the second quarter.

In the second quarte,r the Tiger Cubs had what GHS Coach Glenn Hile called their best second quarter of the season. Greencastle blew up the scoreboard with 17 points with Kyrian Marshall and Stephanie Masten scoring a combined 12 points. Marshall scored six in the paint and Masten hit two big three-point shots.

At the end of the first half, Greencastle led 21-18.

Tri-West bounced back and outscored the Tiger Cubs 9-7.

"We just haven't been able to put four quarters together yet," Hile said. "We can defend pretty well, we're just not offensive enough."

Greencastle was able to hold onto a 28-27 lead after the third quarter.

Tri-West's offense was too much for the Tiger Cubs, outscoring GHS, 15-11 enroute to the win.
