INDIANAPOLIS -- The DePauw University men's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to Earlham College Wednesday, 90-87, at the Conseco Fieldhouse.

Brian Oilar drained a game-tying three-point bucket with just 8.1 seconds in regulation to force overtime at 70-all.

However, Earlham took an early lead in overtime, which the Tigers were unable to overcome.

At 88-82, Reid Sakel hit a clutch three-pointer, bringing DePauw within three points with 27.8 seconds remaining. After a missed Earlham opportunity, Sakel hit another bucket with 11.4 seconds remaining to bring the Tigers within one point.

Earlham's Brandon Miller hit two free throws, stretching the Quaker's lead to three with just 9.6 seconds left.

However, a Mike Moore last second three-pointer was blocked at the Buzzer, sealing the Tigers' fate.

The loss came despite Stephen Schott's career-high 33 points and 11 rebounds. Sakel also had a career-high 18 points, including four three-pointers, while Moore had 12 points and five assists.

Markous Jewett led Earlham, shooting 7-of-11 from the field, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Both Miller and LaRon Henry scored 18 points for the Quakers.

DePauw shot 32-of-64 from the field, while Earlham shot 29-of-62. The Tigers had 40 rebounds in the game, while the Quakers had 36 boards in the contest.

DePauw falls to 4-6 on the season, and play at Northwestern Friday at 7 p.m.
