The DePauw men's basketball team moved one step closer to a winning record Sunday, knocking off Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Sewanee, 100-81.

The Tigers moved to 6-9 on the season and 1-4 in the SCAC.

DePauw trailed briefly in the first half at 11-9, but scored eight straight unanswered points and never trailed again on its way to a 56-45 lead at the break.

The Tigers opened the second half with six straight points and Sewanee got as close as 13 with under six minutes left to play. DePauw sealed the deal with an eight-point run at the end of the game.

Austin Brown led the Tigers with a career high of 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting and equaled a career-high of seven rebounds. Alex Stewart followed with 16 while Matt McDonald matched career-highs with 14 points and eight rebounds. Ryan Werntz notched a career high with 13 points Brian Oiler had 11.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday when travel to Millsaps.
