John Robert Bemis Jr.

John Robert Bemis Jr., 43 Harmony, died Saturday at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis following a motor vehicle accident in Harmony.

Born in Brazil, he was the son of John and Ola Pearl (Morgan) Bemis. Following graduation from high school he worked in landscaping. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the VanBibber Volunteer Fire Dept.

Surviving are his mother, Ola Pearl Coffman, Brazil; two sisters, Ava Curtis and Janet Weis and husband Edward "Smokey"; two brothers, Melvin Robert Bemis and Edward Dale Bemis, all of Brazil; special friend Bernadette Powell, and several nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil, with burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil.
