Tiger men drop soccer match to Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- DePauw University's men's soccer team gave up three first-half goals to Trinity in a 5-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference loss to No. 1-ranked Trinity Sunday.

The Tigers fell to 8-7 on the season and 3-3 in SCAC play while Trinity moved to 15-0 overall and 6-0 in conference action.

Josh Peterson scored an unassisted goal at 16:44 before Ben Stewart tallied a goal 49 seconds later on an assist from German Gomez.

Mike Marino scored Trinity's third goal of the half with a penalty kick at 35:13.

Scott Noel scored the Tigers' lone goal on an assist from Jeremy Rielley at 46:09 before Trinity's Kyle Altman scored on a penalty kick at 50:52.

Matt Beham wrapped up the scoring on an assist from Marino at 84:30.

Trinity outshot DePauw 22-4 and had a 3-1 advantage in corners.

DePauw will be on the road at Centre Saturday.
