Voting for TGL ongoing on YouTube.com

Monday, October 30, 2006

The voting process has started for TGL, a rock-outfit composed of four Greencastle High School graduates.

The group of Zach Stewart on bass, John Sibbitt on guitar and vocals, Jake Berry on guitars, and Will Cath on drums recently entered the "YouTube.com Under-ground Contest," and is now seeking support from Putnam County residents to win.

The contest consists of music video submissions from more than 2,000 unsigned artists. TGL entered its music video for "Blue Star Highway," a video for a song on its recent CD that was shot entirely in Greencastle last spring by a production company in Chicago.

A victory in the contest would enable the four college students to go to New York City at the end of November to perform on ABC's "Good Morning America."

The top 20 bands with the most votes will be placed in a finalist pool where they will then be judged by a panel of undetermined celebrities in the music industry. Four finalists will be chosen by the panel to go to New York City. The winners will be informed by Nov. 17 via telephone.

A free YouTube.com account is not needed, but those who wish to vote for TGL may go to the band's myspace.com website and click on its "Vote for TGL" flyer. According to Stewart, the process takes less than five minutes.

In addition, those interested can currently download four of the five tracks from TGL's most recent CD by going to www.my space.com/tglrock. Those who visit the website may also view the video for "Blue Star Highway."
