CMS 7th graders take down Greencastle at home

The Cloverdale Middle School boys' seventh-grade basketball team defeated Greencastle at home, 30-20 Monday.

The Clovers were led by Jordan Brinkman, who scored a game-high 13 points.

Trevor Lockwood had five, Joe Fidler had three, Tony Kern and Mitchell Williams each scored two. Charles Strunk had one point for the Clovers.

Greencastle was led by Nick Hutcheson, who contributed six points.

Hank Spencer and Nolan Sappenfield each had four points, and Trevor Huber, Brad Haussin and Dustin Law each had two.

CMS will be in action again Thursday on the road against Rockville while the Tiger Cubs will face Danville on the road Wednesday.

S. Putnam 7th-graders pick up wins against Panthers

MONTEZUMA -- South Putnam Middle School's seventh-grade boys' basketball teams each picked up wins over Riverton Parke on the road Monday.

The seventh-grade A-team defeated the Panthers, 28-20.

Alex Eickhoff led the Eagles with eight points, followed by Rob Gibson who scored six.

Josh Wilson and Cole Stevens each scored four points, and Ty Hewitt scored two.

The Eagles' B-team earned a 21-13 victory over Riverton Parke.

Stevens led the way with seven points, and Hewitt had four.

Logan White, Dylan Whitford, Zach Smith and Alex Kelly each finished with two points.

The Eagles will be in action again Wednesday when they host Owen Valley.
