Holiday drama, songs, food: Russellville show has it all

Thursday, December 7, 2006

The public is invited to experience the Christmas season with the Community Churches Christmas Choir at the Russellville Community Center Friday, Dec. 8 through Sunday, Dec. 10.

This free three-day concert is by a 60-member choir that represents seven churches from northern Putnam and southern Montgomery counties. There will also be a children's choir and a drama team will perform during the musical performance.

Some of the choir and drama team members include former Commissioner Gene Clodfelter, Community Corrections Director Jamie France and Putnam County Foundation Board Member Darrell Wiatt.

Pre-concert entertainment has also been arranged with Visions of Praise, who will perform songs in sign language, and a group of women from a church in Crawfordsville who will perform a traditional Jewish dance.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Prior to each performance, the Russellville Community Center will serve a meal of salisbury steak on Friday, spaghetti on Saturday and chicken and noodles on Sunday.

A free-will offering will be accepted for the meal and the nursery will be provided.
