DPU women beat Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- Suzy Doughty paced the DePauw University women's basketball team to a 90-60 road win over Monmouth Saturday.

The Tigers are 6-1 on teh season while the Scots dropped to 4-4 overall.

Doughty only had nine points, but she also tallied 10 assists and 10 steals to lead the Tigers.

Cassie Pruzin also had 17 points in 22 minutes to pace DePauw's offense while Gretchen Haehl and Meghan Warner both had 14.

The Tigers used a 20-4 run in the first half to put the game out of reach. The run expanded a one-point lead to 17 en route to a 49-28 first-half lead.

Pruzin and Haehl combined to go 9-of-14 from beyond the arc in the win. DePauw was 11-of-18 from three-point range in the win and 34-of-67 from the field.

Warner also led the Tigers in rebounds with seven as DePauw outrebounded the Scots, 37-31.

Melissa Gorski paced the Scots with 19 points while Tanesha Hughes chipped in 16. Ashley Yeast also had eight rebounds while Elise Waldorf dished out seven assists.

Monmouth shot 46 percent from the field but committeed 33 turnovers.

The Tigers will face Wittenberg on the road Saturday.
