Museum to have regular hours through holidays

Friday, December 22, 2006

The Putnam County Museum will be open for its regular hours during the holiday season: 1-4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Four exhibits and the Museum's new gift shop will entertain and educate guests.

* The history exhibit, In Service to Putnam County, features the 1928 Greencastle Studebaker engine and shares stories of local volunteer and professional firefighters.

* The art exhibit, Art in Transit, showcases the work of more than a dozen local artists on the theme of transportation.

* Visitors can test their knowledge of national and local African-American history with the traveling timeline currently hanging in the museum's multipurpose room.

* And the Baugh family memorializes Officer Jim Baugh in the Community Curated exhibit space.

The Children's Area offers hands-on historic toys and a small display of fire truck toys.

There is something for everyone at the museum.

The Putnam County Museum is located at 1105 N. Jackson St. in Greencastle.
