S. Putnam swimmers host Eagle Medley Relay

The South Putnam High School boys' and girls' swim squads hosted the Eagle Medley Relay Meet on Friday, coming away with first-place finishes in five events.

The meet is not scored and some events are co-ed.

The Eagles picked up a first-place finish in the boys' 200-yard breaststroke relay, where Damon Robinson, Cory Russell, Clark Becker and Jon Weaver won with a time of 2:26.92.

The SPHS co-ed 1,000-yard distance freestyle relay team of Tabitha Arnold, Laura Manninen, Wes Albright and Chris Smiley also won with a time of 12:02.36 while the 400-yard individual medley relay girls' team of Manninen, Amanda Lund, Rachel Egold and Janaye Asher won at 5:16.75.

In addition, South Putnam's 400 individual medley relay boys' team of Loren Ashcraft, Heath Pruitt, Russell and Cory McCallie won with a time of 4:45.01.

The 200-yard butterfly relay girls' team of Manninen, Brittany Cox, Asher and Lund also won with a time of 2:25.31.

The Eagles will be back in the pool next Saturday for the WCC Championships.
