Lethia Myers, 89, Roachdale, died Saturday at Mill Pond Health Campus, Greencastle.

Born at Roachdale, she was he daughter of J. Frank and Edna M. (Giles) Wilson.

A 1936 graduate of Roachdale High School, she was a graduate of Central Normal College, Danville, and earned her master's degree from Indiana State University. She taught for 29 years at Roachdale, Bainbridge and North Putnam high schools, instructing English, Latin, physical education, typing, shorthand and business accounting. She was chairperson of the English Department at North Putnam, and sponsor of the Thespian Club and cheerleaders. She was a member of Roachdale Presbyterian Church, F.A.H. Club, Delta Theta Tau, Order of Eastern Star at Roachdale and Putnam County Retired Teachers Association.

She married James L. Myers on Feb. 21, 1942 at Aberdeen, Md. He died Feb. 4, 2002.

Surviving are a son, James L. Myers II, Goshen; two daughters, Lora Scott and husband Larry, Roachdale, and Rita Gau and husband Gerry, Mosinee, Wis.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son John Allen Myers, brother Charles Randall Wilson and sisters Elizabeth DeBoy, Lucille Smith, Margaret Barbour and Edith Royal.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Roachdale Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Small officiating. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday.
