Rachel Cooper, 86, Panama City, Fla., died Friday at a Florida hospital.

Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Ira and Lucille Hutcheson.

She and her husband of 39 years, Red Cooper, were married in Greencastle and moved to Panama City in 1956 where they owned and operated the Dairy Queen. She was a volunteer at Bay Medical Center for 31 years.

Surviving are a son, H. Lee Cooper and wife Janna Demarta Cooper, Crystal River, Fla.; a daughter, Lois Bolter and husband Jim, Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Anna May Wall and husband John, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Mary Wichmann and husband Bob, Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Panama City.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time.

Southerland Family Funeral Homes, Panama City, handled arrangements.
