Greencastle blasts West Vigo Vikings

WEST TERRE HAUTE --On Wednesday, the Greencastle High School boys' and girls' swim teams both picked up victories at West Vigo.

In boys' action, the Tiger Sharks won, 130-52, while the GHS girls' team defeated the Vikings, 145-41.

The Greencastle boys picked up 10 first-place finishes Wednesday and were paced by Mark Jedele.

Jedele won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58 while also finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle at 52.87.

The girls' team earned wins in all 11 events Wednesday.

Caitlin Gannaway led the way for Greencastle, earning a victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.49 while also winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:24.

The Greencastle boys' squad will travel to face North Montgomery on Monday while the girls' team will host Danville Tuesday.
