Evelyn C. Herriott

Evelyn C. Herriott, 92, Greencastle, died Saturday.

Born in Madison, Ind., she was the daughter of Irven and Zella (Jones) Crim.

She was a graduate of Hanover High School and Hanover College.

She taught at Jeffersonville High School, New Castle High School, Baldwin Wallace College and Lake Ridge Academy.

She was a member of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and deacon and was a member of the women's association.

She was a member of the P.E.O., Sisterhood Chapter CB, Greencastle Women's Club, Woman's Study Club, and the Putnam County Hospital Guild.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years Max E. Herriott; children Carol Bruen and husband Jim, and David Heller; sister Marjorie Strohm, special friends Valerie and Robert Hudson, several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Herbert L. Heller, brother John Crim and stepson Glen Herriott.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greencastle Presbyterian Church, Round Barn Road, Greencastle. Burial will be private.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.
