SPHS girls fall to Bruins

LIZTON -- On Tuesday, the South Putnam High School dropped to 7-10 overall after falling to Tri-West on the road, 58-41.

The Eagles trailed at the conclusion of the first period, 16-6, and fell behind, 31-17, by halftime.

The Bruins outscored the Eagles, 15-8, in the third period but South Putnam had the advantage in the final period, outscoring Tri-West, 16-12.

Meghan Canary led the Eagles in scoring with 12 points while Oceaia Boetjer finished with eight points before fouling out.

Samantha Stanifer also added six points while Leeah Butts had five. Megan Robinson and Bailey Birt both had four points and C.J. Searles rounded out South Putnam's scoring with two points.

The Eagles (7-10 overall, 1-3 in the West Central Conference) face Cloverdale at home Friday.
