Canary named GLVC Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS -- Former South Putnam High School girls' basketball standout and current Univresity of Indianapolis freshman Jessica Canary was recently named the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

She guided U of I to wins over Quincy and SIU Edwardsville.

In U of I's 64-36 win over Quincy on Jan. 18, Canary had nine points, two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal. She also had a career-high 15 points in U of I's 69-55 victory over SUI Edwardsville on Jan. 20. On the season, Canary is averaging 5.9 points.

The Grey-hounds are 11-5 on the season.
