Cloverdale playground named by student

The Cloverdale Civic League recently announced the winner of its "Name the Playground" contest.

The league received 73 entries, but the winner was Cloverdale Elementary kindergarten student Kyla Gardner.

Gardner had presented the name "The Clover Patch."

A permanent plaque in honor of Gardner will be erected on teh playground during construction, which is scheduled to begin May 2008.

The new playground is part of a three-phase renovation the civic league is doing at the Cloverdale Community Park. The first phase is scheduled to take place this spring.
