Robert Herman Bonness

Robert Herman Bonness, 73, Gosport, died Thursday in Greencastle.

Born in Lasalle, Ill., he was the son of Herman Albert and Edythe (Asher) Bonness.

A 1951 graduate of Gosport High School, he attended Purdue University before joining the U.S. Army. He was a farmer in the Gosport area for more than 40 years, and was a member of Gosport Baptist Church.

He married Barbara Stanley, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Julie Bollman and husband Bill, Bainbridge; sister Mary Ann Sensney and husband Ray, Gosport; a niece, nephew and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Gosport, with Rev. David Black officiating.

Burial will be in Gosport Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday.
