Mark Lee Bass, 53, Brazil died Tuesday at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

Born in Brazil, he was the son of Theodore Mark Bass, Jr. and Iris "Jean" Hyde Bass.

He graduated in 1972 from Brazil High School, and had worked for Romas Farms, Tech Corp., CBS, and was supervisor of the workshop at the Clay County Learning Center for more than 19 years. He also worked as custodian at Northview High School, and along with his wife was a foster parent for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He married Rebecca Kathleen Porter on June 4, 1977. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Larry Dane Bass, Clint Theodore Bass and Joe Zimmerman; his mother, Iris Jean Bass, Center Point; a brother, Dane Bass and wife Melissa, Clay City; two nephews, a niece, and several extended family members.

He was precceded in death by his father.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with Bro. Jim Porter officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, and prior to services Saturday.
