Puppets used to illustrate healthier eating habits
Teaching healthy eating habits to children at the Head Start preschool in Greencastle was the focus of Greencastle High School students who recently put on an educational puppet show for the youngsters.
GHS Student Council advisor Kathy Jones said the students are doing two projects as part of INSight Indiana, a program that was developed out of INShape Indiana.
The other project is to create a salad bar for students at the high school.
"The INSight Youth Corps prepares and empowers high school students to provide health education within their school system, as well as design and carry out various creative health-related individual and community-based projects," according to information from INSight.
The program gives students an opportunity to develop skills such as teamwork, public speaking, communication, leadership and collaboration.
Greencastle students who performed at Head Start this week included Becky Grivas, Brooke Lewis, Taylor Query, Kayla Birt and Rachel Woodall.
