Bridge work

The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced 9-feet lane restrictions now in effect on State Road 42 on the bridge over Cataract Lake, three quarters of a mile west of Ind. 243.

American Contract-ing Services will be replacing the bridge deck overlay. Traffic will be controlled with a temporary traffic signal. Work is scheduled for completion on Nov. 20

The official detour for over-sized loads follows Ind. 243 to Interstate 70 to Ind. 59.



Skate nights

Roller skating has become so popular at the Russellville Community Center that the event has been expanded to twice per month.

The next skate date is Monday, March 5 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Regular skating dates are now the first and third Mondays of the month.

Cost to rent skates is $2 and admission is free. Refreshments will also be available to purchase.



Ground effects

All ground decorations must be removed by March 15 at Forest Hill Cemetery.

After that date, any decorations on the ground will be disposed of by cemetery personnel.

The good life

Local band TGL has won MtvU's "best music on campus" award, and will be featured on national television starting Monday, March 12.

MtvU is a television station that is available on almost every college/university campus. TGL has previously competed in the YouTube Underground video contest. Band members include Will Cath, Zach Stewart, John Sibbit and Quinn Fenlon, all graduates of Greencastle High School.
