Raymond Daniel Eglen, 80, Brazil, formerly of Greencastle, died Friday in St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Born in Salem, he was the son of Winfield and Florence (McCArthy) Eglen.

He retired from the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and Korea. His second retirement was from the canteen at Columbia House. He was a member of the Church of the Living God.

He married Opal M. Eglen on Dec. 16, 1995. She survives.

Other survivors are three daughters, Mary Stout, Pamela McCombs and Terri Eglen; seven stepchildren, Ron Denny, Jeff Denny, Steve Burk, Mike Burk, Larry Burk, Sandra Silcox and Marcia Carter; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday.
