Jack E. Rising, 74, Greencastle, died Sunday at his residence.
Born in Greencastle, he was the son of Paul Thomas and Helen Mae (Lee) Rising.
A 1950 graduate of Greencastle High School, he had been a custodian at the Putnam County Courthouse for several years. He had previously worked at the U.S. Post Office in Greencastle and the Putnam County Highway Garage. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Greencastle Elks Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Hanley, Cloverdale; his mother; three grandsons, two great-grandsons, a niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother Thomas Rising.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Chaplain Richard Houk officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
