DePauw gets seventh win

GREENCASTLE -- On Tuesday, the DePauw University men's tennis team, ranked sixth in the nation, improved to 7-3 on the season after knocking off visiting Southern Indiana, 9-0.

At No. 1 singles, Evan Webeler defeated Andrew McGuire, 6-1, 6-7, 6-2, while Scott Swanson beat Bo Scott at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-4.

At No. 3 singles, Bryan Heck beat Ryan McDaniel, 6-0, 6-0, and Scott Sauer knocked off Dustin Thoms at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Will Gates also beat Bryan Sulcer at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while Scott Sandager defeated Tim Alcorn at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles action, DePauw's No. 1 tandem of Webeler and Swanson beat McGuire and Scott, 8-6, while Kortney Keith and Jeff Zanchelli beat Sulcer and McDaniel at No. 2, 8-1. At No. 3 doubles, DePauw's duo of Ryan Dodd and Heck defeated Thomas and Alcorn, 8-1.

The Tigers are back in action Saturday when they host Wheaton at 10 a.m. DPU also faces Case Reserve Western at home Sunday.
