Bill Birdsell

Bill Birdsell, 82, Greencastle, died Wednesday at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

Born in Fayette, Iowa, he was the son of Lloyd and Lavon Ware Bird-sell.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired as a sales representative for Nunn Bush Shoe Co. in 1985, and served as the Warren Township Trustee for the past 12 years.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sue Birdsell; daughters, Rebecca Saunders, Stephanie Drullinger and husband Drew, and Cecily Steinbaker and husband Curt; son Eric Birdsell and wife Karla; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sons Michael Birdsell and Bill Birdsell Jr.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. A private family entombment has been scheduled.
