John M. Klebusch, 79, Greencastle, died Sunday.

Born in Greencastle, he was the son of Milton E. and Opal (English) Klebusch.

A 1945 graduate of Greencastle High School, he was an Eagle Scout and served as a Scout leader and an Explorer troop leader. He was a florist and served as farm foreman at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. He had volunteered as an ambulance attendant in the years prior to Operation Life, and was a deacon emeritus at Sherwood Christian Church. He was a member of Mecca Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Betty R. Elmore; daughters Lana Klebsuch, St. Petersburg, Fla., Anita Akins and husband Steve, Greencastle, and Jonnan Klebusch and fiance Bob Teorsky, Tarentum, Pa.; son Ned Klebusch and wife Diane, Greencastle; stepdaughters, Cindy Treash, Lexington, Ky., and Crystal Green, Greencastle; sister Bettie Davis and husband Tom, Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son William John "Bill" Klebusch.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Gordon Guoli officiating.

Private burial is planned.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
