Eagle girls' and boys' track split in triangular meet

JASONVILLE -- The South Putnam High School track teams traveled to Shakamak Tuesday, coming away with a split in action.
In girls' results, Clay City won the meet with 77.5 points while South Putnam had 54. Shakamak finished third with 20.5.
In boys' action, Clay City won with 68 points while the Eagles had 56. Shakamak finished with 33 points.
On the girls' side, South Putnam tallied five victories, paced by Shelby Johnston.
The junior won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.8 whle also placing first in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.
In boys' action, South Putnam finished with six wins as senior Kode Terry led the way.
Terry won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.4 while also winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.6.
South Putnam will take part in the Cascade Invitational Friday, beginning at 5 p.m.

North and CHs face Eminence

BAINBRIDGE -- The Cloverdale boys' and girls' track team traveled to North Putnam Tuesday night to compete with the Cougars and Eminence. The boys finished second while the girls finished first on the night.
In boys' action, Cloverale captured five first-place finishes on the night. Nick Keefer, Dylan Stone, and Christian Cheatham accounted for the wins.
North won the boys event with a total of 78 points, Clovedale came in second with 73 and Eminence was third with five points.
On the girls' side, the Clovers recorded 12 event wins on the night. Ashely Koosman, Ashley Higgins, Elizabeth Cheatham, Ashley McCallie, Brynlea Mattocks and Jenna Lewis all captured wins on the night. Also the 3,200 meter relay and the 1,600 meter relay posted wins.
The girls won the event with a total of 98 points. North was second with 56 points and Eminence was third with one point.
North Putnam will be in action Thursday at Greencastle at 4:30 p.m. while Cloverdale will face North Central on the road Tuesday at 5 p.m.
