North JV softball defeats Cadets

The North Putnam junior varsity softball team defeated Cascade Tuesday night, 9-7, at home.

Elsiana Crosby hit two singles and a triple to help power the Cougar offense. Sara Tanner, Ashley Curry and Whitney Lloyd all had singles on the night.

Shelby Watts pitched a complete game, throwing for seven hits, two strikeouts and four earned runs.

North will host Owen Valley today at 6 p.m.

CMS baseball falls to Plainfield

The Cloverdale seventh and eighth grade baseball teams fell to Plainfield Tuesday night at home.

In the eighth grade game, the Clovers lost 8-4 as Plainfield made their run late in the game. Kole Schorer and Josh Burnett had two hits to lead the Clovers.

Frankie Skiles pitched four shutout innings for Cloverdale and Jordan Hayden came in for Skiles in the fifth inning.

For the seventh grade, Cloverdale came up short, losing 15-12. Ethan Atwood and Brian Dale led the Clovers with two hits each. Trevor Lockwood smacked a triple for Cloverdale in the seventh inning.
