Brent Nolan Ringler, 44, Aiken, S.C., formerly of Cloverdale, died Tuesday.

Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Frank and Ruth (Didion) Ringler.

A graduate of Cloverdale High School, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed in sales with BellSouth, and was active as a Boy Scout leader, coached youth basketball and was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Surviving are his wife of four years, Mindy Ringler; son Derrick E. Ringler, Aiken, S.C., daughter Megan R. Ringler, Aiken, S.C.; mother Ruth Sallier and husband Stan, Cloverdale; stepson Ben Carter, Indianapolis; stepdaughter Kristen Whitaker, Tell City; brother Rance Ringler, Daytona Beach, Fla.; sister Tamara Wright, Gasden, Ala.; and several other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Fr. Bernard Cox officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Cloverdale Cemetery .

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday.
