Blast from Past pie contest set for Saturday

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

The fourth annual Blast from the Past June fest Homemade Pie Contest has been scheduled for Sunday, June 3.

Registration of pies is from 10-11 a.m. and judging starts at 11 a.m.

All pies are asked to be baked in a disposable pan with a name on the bottom of the pan. Winners will be announced after judging is completed.

Pies are not judged by a certified pie judge but by local people. Judging will be based on appearance and taste.

The contest is open to all ages and those interested in competing do not have to live in the area. All out--of-county entries are welcome and all pies will be sold in the Friends of the Park booth after judging.

Any kind of pie will be accepted and those competing may enter more than one pie if they wish.

All pies are asked to be taken to the Friends of the Park information tent, located at the north end of the outside vendors across from the water tower.

First place will received $30 while second will earn $20 and third place will receive $10.
