Virginia D. "Ginny" Shaner

Virginia D. "Ginny" Shaner, 65, Greencastle died Saturday.

Born in Fremont, Ohio she was the daughter of Arthur and Lillian Pearl White Dickey.

She attended Ross High School, Fremont, Ohio and was a member of New Life Baptist Church and the Moose.

Survivors include husband John C. Shaner; children Doreen Aguilar and husband Joaquin, Fremont, Ohio, John W. Shaner, Cloverdale and Sandy Chadd, Greencastle; siblings Mary Ann Homler, Lillian Williams and John Dickey, all of Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry Shaner; siblings Wilma Rader, Gilbert Dickey, Helen King and Arthur Dickey, Jr.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Hallie Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
