Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Stacy Dean Lewis, 34, Cloverdale, was booked in at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated. He was arrested by Greencastle Officer D. Bunten.

* Cody Starr Gibson, 22, Bainbridge, was booked in at 5:11 a.m. Wednesday for public intoxication and failure to appear in court. He was arrested by Bainbridge Marshal Rodney Fenwick.

Sheriff's Dept.

One person was injured in a moped accident at 8:03 p.m. Aug. 6.

Deputy Josh Boller reported that Clifford J. Malayer, 74, 8529 N. CR 250 East, Roachdale, was driving west on a 2005 E-Ton moped when he lost control of the vehicle. He was ejected and sustained a head injury.

Damage was estimated at $750-$1,000.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

On Monday:

* At 9:37 p.m., crews were called to a car fire in front of the Greencastle Middle School, 400 First St. The run was canceled and firefighters were back on station at 9:40 p.m.

On Wednesday:

* At 3:32 p.m., firefighters responded to Heartland Automotive, 300 S. 10th St., to assist paramedics responding to a call about a worker caught in machinery, They returned at 4:09 p.m.
