Joan G. Gaebes

Joan G. Geabes, 79, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Greencastle, died Saturday at Hope Hospice House, Fort Myers, Fla.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Claude W. and Reggie (Williams) Glover.

A 1946 graduate of Greencastle High School, she had been a legal secretary for Lyon and Boyd, William L. McClellan and C. Reid Priest.

She married Wayne C. Gaebes on Oct. 30, 1948. He died Feb. 26, 2007.

Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Gaebes and friend Richard York, Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, Steve Gaebes, Greencastle; two brothers, Jack W. Glover, Greencastle, Richard Glover and wife Donna, Corydon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert A. Glover and two nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, with Rev. Steve Williams officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.
