Putnam County Jail

Eighteen people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Shawn Allen Fikes, 30, Fillmore, was booked in at 4:17 p.m. Friday for contempt of court and a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested at PCJ.

* Tanielle Maynard, 21, Greencastle, was booked in at 6:48 p.m. Friday for receiving stolen property. She was arrested by Greencastle Officer Darrel Bunten.

* Juifria Maynard, 20, Greencastle, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Friday for receiving stolen property. She was arrested by Officer Bunten.

* Terry Maynard, 19, Greencastle, was booked in at 9:10 p.m. Friday for theft. He was arrested by Greencastle Officer Ed Wilson.

* Robert Sims, 19, Fillmore, was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Friday for theft. He was arrested by Officer Wilson.

* Donald Ray Gilley, 46, Cloverdale, was booked in at 1:53 a.m. Saturday for possession of paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement using a vehicle and possession of marijuana.

* Michael Paullis, 39, Reelsville, was booked in at 2:35 p.m. Saturday for domestic battery. He was arrested by ISP Trooper Chris Harcourt.

* Justin Levi Burnham, 20, Greencastle, was booked in at 4:43 p.m. Saturday for reckless possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

* Donna Marie Parks, 48, Roachdale, was booked in at 11:54 p.m. Saturday for public intoxication, petition to revoke probation and resisting law enforcement.

* Keith Preston Akers, 21, Middletown, Ohio, was booked in at 12:30 a.m. Sunday for public intoxication and driving while intoxicated. He was released at 12:54 p.m. Sunday after posting bond.

* David S. Sims, 52, Cloverdale, was booked in at 12:49 a.m. Sunday for violation of home detention. He was arrested by Cloverdale Asst. Chief Tim Walker.

* Scott Daniel Donaldson, 35, Greencastle, was booked in at 3:04 a.m. Sunday for domestic battery and public intoxication. He was arrested by Reserve Deputy Barry Barger.

* Wendy Sharlyn Donaldson, 32, Greencastle, was booked in at 3:47 a.m. Sunday for mischief, public intoxication and domestic battery. She was arrested by Reserve Deputy Denna DeLaCruz.

* Crystal Danielle Roberts, 24, Indianapolis, was booked in at 4:53 a.m. Sunday for possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated, endangering a person. She was released at 3:32 p.m. Sunday after posting bond.

* Crystal Sue Curry, 28, Indianapolis, was booked in at 5:35 a.m. Sunday for possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested by DNR Officer Kenneth Sparks.

* Latrizia Charlotte Jenkins, 27, Indianapolis, was booked in at 6:23 a.m. for possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested by Officer Sparks.

* Adam Jones, 21, Fillmore, was booked in at 11:09 a.m. Sunday for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. He was arrested by Trooper Harcourt.

* Dawn Rose Tibbetts, 39, St. Louis, Mo., was booked in at 2:18 a.m. Monday for driving while intoxicated. She was arrested by Deputy Dwight Simmons.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

Several runs were handled recently by the Greencastle Fire Dept.

On Friday:

* At 10:23 p.m., firefighters were called to clean up a fuel spill at Speedway, 1019 Indianapolis Road after a vehicle ran into a pump and 10 gallons of fuel was spilled. They returned to station at 11:09 p.m.

On Saturday:

* At 1:51 a.m., firefighters went to 410 Meadow Drive to provide lift assistance for ambulance personnel. They returned to station at 2:51 a.m.

* At 7:09 a.m., firefighters went to 724 E. Washington St., for a smoke odor caused by an overheated fan. They returned to station at 7:36 a.m.

* At 12:53 p.m., firefighters started to 1303 Bloomington St., but were notified to disregard the alarm by the alarm company at 12:56 p.m.

* At 4:09 p.m., GFD started to Delta Chi fraternity, 912 S. Locust St., for an alarm, but was notified that it had been set off by bug bombs and disregarded the run at 4:13 p.m.

* At 9:47 p.m., firefighters went to a dumpster fire at 207 Poplar St. They returned to station at 10:15 p.m.

On Sunday:

* At 10:03 a.m., firefighters went to Humbert Hall, 208 Olive St., after disinfectant spray set off an alarm. They returned to station at 10:27 a.m.

* At 12:09 p.m., firefighters went to 109 W. Hanna (student housing) after a washing machine on the second floor flooded and went into an alarm panel on the first floor. They returned to station at 12:25 p.m.

Sheriff's Dept.

Two accidents were investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept. recently.

On Friday:

* At 4:30 a.m. Friday, a car went into a ditch and rolled over on U.S. 231 at CR 1000 North.

Deputy Tom Helmer reported that Lester Uselman, Clinton, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, was southbound on U.S. 231 when he swerved to miss a semi-tractor trailer that had gone left of center.

His vehicle went into the ditch, striking an embankment and then flipping over three times and coming to rest in the road. Uselman was able to climb out of the vehicle and declined medical treatment at the scene. The driver of the semi was not located.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-10,000.

On Sunday:

* At 1:43 a.m. Sunday, a car struck another car on Girty Lane at CR 450 North.

Deputy Barry Barger reported that Wendy Donaldson, Greencastle, driving a 1996 Buick Regency, was angry at the owner of a parked 1988 Buick Regal, and rammed the vehicle several times. The car was registered to Scott Donaldson, Greencas-tle.
