Saturday, August 25, 2007

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale Middle School eighth grade team opened its season with a 14-12 win over Cascade. The Clovers are 1-0.

"The defense played very well tonight as they held Cascade on the 22-yard line for three downs to win the game," coach Mark Wheeler said. "The defense made two interceptions to stop big drives for Cascade."

Trevor Lockwood scored the Clovers' first touchdown when he caught a 6-yard pass from Jordan Brinkman. Alex Law ran 58 yards for the second touchdown.

Coach Billy Boyette said he was very happy with the hustle from the team.

The Clovers will face host North Putnam Thursday, Aug. 30.
