Clovers win back-to-back games to climb over .500

MARSHALL -- Coming off a five-game outing, the Cloverdale Clovers volleyball team needed only three to dispose of Turkey Run. The Clovers won 25-19, 25-20 and 25-14 Tuesday on the road.

Elizabeth Cheatham led the Clover attack with 11 kills, while Ashley Koosman added five. Jennifer Wiley contributed three with Kristen McCammon and Alesha Evans adding two each.

Maria Skiles led the Clovers in assists with seven and Kaleigh Sparks added five in the victory.

Defensively, Koosman recorded five digs and Allie Franklin had four. Cheatham helped control the net, as she had two blocks on the night, with Whitney Bond adding one block.

Skiles led Cloverdale at the service line with 13 points and four aces. McCammon added nine points and three aces, with Sparks adding eight points and three aces. Koosman had six points and three aces, while Franklin added six points and two aces.

"We played better tonight," CHS coach Kathy Moore said. "The girls tried a few things with the attack. We hope to improve our offensive output."

The junior varsity lost 25-23 and 25-12.

The Clovers will host the Tiger Cubs at 6 p.m. Thursday.
