Tiger Cubs lose to North Montgomery

The Greencastle volleyball team dropped a hard-fought three game battle with North Montgomery Wednesday night. GHS lost 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21.

Olivia Miller recorded 18 blocks, two stuff blocks, eight kills and 19 digs in the loss. Kelsey Hennette added 19 assists, eight blocks, three stuffs and one kill, while Kristen Flint had 11 blocks, one stuff, seven kills one ace and 15 digs.

Kayla Nobles contributed two kills, nine digs, with Sarah Land adding 10 blocks and one kill. Brooke Lewis had five kills and 23 digs for the Tiger Cubs.

Samantha Kuchler had two aces and 10 digs, while Mallory Miller added four digs.

With the loss the Tiger Cubs drop to 4-8 on the season and 1-1 in WCC play.

"We will have to work harder as a team to improve," coach Trish Lowe said. "I felt as though we improved in some areas, yet faltered in others. I was happy with our serving and our serve receive was better. Our basic teamwork needs much work."

In junior varsity action, Greencastle lost 25-14 and 25-14.

Mallory Miller had five assists, Braden Amis had two kills and Chelsea Samuels added three blocks.

Greencastle will host Tri-West at 6 p.m. today.
