Russellville residents round up interest in annual event

The annual Russellville Roundup will be held at the Russellville Community Center on Sept. 8 and 9. Breakfast will start each day at 8 p.m. with Linda Nelson's famous homemade cinnamon rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits and scrambled eggs.

Officials will start serving dinner items at 10:30 a.m. The lunch menu consists of boneless ribeye, barbeque, hot dogs, coneys, ham and beans, cornbread, fish, tenderloin, macaroni and potato salad, tomatoes and pie.

Saturday's entertainment includes piano player Blair Carmen and the Belleview Boys from 1 to 3 p.m., Dana Sewell from 3 to 4 p.m. and open microphone and local talent starts at 4 p.m.

Sunday's entertainment includes the New Dawn Singers from 1 to 2 p.m., Deliverance from 2 to 3 p.m., Fonda from 3 to 4 p.m. and Dance by Deborah at 4 p.m.

Other special events on Saturday include a co-ed softball tournament beginning at 8 a.m. and a Little Mr. and Miss Contest and Baby Contest at 10 a.m. Children's games begin at 11 a.m. and a kids' tractor pull start at 12:15 p.m. Sunday's events include outdoor church services at 11 a.m., along with an antique car show and parade at 4:30 p.m.

After the parade, there will be a drawing for many prizes, including a bicycle and $100 cash.

Craft booths, petting zoo, cotton candy, snow cones, lemonade shakeups and much more will be available both days. The public is invited and most welcome to attend. All proceeds will benefit the community center.
