Cloverdale firefighters respond to structure fire.

A fire engulfed and gutted a storage barn just west of Cloverdale town limits Tuesday evening.

Firefighters were called to 483 E. County Road 1000 S at about 6:30 p.m.

When they arrived, the building was fully engulfed in flames. The Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department had the blaze under control within about four minutes, though, said fire fighter Tod Shedron.

Neighbor Becky Carlisle called 911 after she heard an explosion and smoke and fire shoot out of the back of the building. She was so rattled by the fire that she couldn't even remember her next door neighbor's address, she said.

The house was not damaged in the fire and no one was injured.
